We are working with the Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition and other organizations in our area to hold banks accountable for their actions during the housing crisis. Let's put pressure on bank executives to make things right.

To help keep people in their homes, we'd like banks to:

• Establish principal reduction programs: the ability to modify existing loans to current market rates.

• Develop right to rent program: When a bank forecloses upon a home, the former owner can rent the home at current rental market rates for 5 years. 

• Establish single point of contact for loan modifications:  Isn't it frustrating to call a bank only to talk to someone who doesn't have the answers you need?

• Be more transparent: Banks should make publicly available the outcomes for each eligible Maryland home-owner whose mortgage the bank is servicing.
